Lindsay sat down in the booth just in time to catch the end of Jill and Cindy's argument.
"I don't see why I have to be the male character." Jill complained.
"Because I fit the profile of the female much better than you do." Cindy explained.
"But it's Halloween, you're supposed to go against type."
"I don't want to go against this type."
Confused Lindsay held up her hands, "What are you fighting about?"
"We are trying to decide who gets to be Gabrielle to your Xena for Claire's costume party." Cindy informed her.
"Why did I let you guys talk me into this." Lindsay moaned as she buried her face in her hands. "I hate Halloween."
"Yeah, well she wants me to be some Joxer character!" Jill exclaimed with a forced indignation.
Lindsay tilted her head to smirk at Cindy, "that's just cold."
"I always thought he was cute, in a nerdy sort of way." Cindy shrugged.
"Hey. I am not a nerd. And from what you tell me he never got any."
"You never know, he coulda. Besides you're the one who wants to go against type." Cindy laughed.
After a moments contemplation Lindsay came up with another character. "You know there is always Aphrodite."
"Ooh, yeah. She was hot in a dumb blond sort of way." Cindy agreed.
"I'm not dumb either." Jill reminded them. "How hot?" she added after a second to think it over.
The three friends continued to stare at each other until Jill finally broke the lusty haze, "You know we could just skip the party."
"Best idea I've heard yet." Lindsay said as she stood from the table and held out her hand to Jill.
Cindy threw some money onto the table and chased after them out of the diner. "We are still stopping at the costume store though? Right?"
